Lance Valdespino has made a DVD of the early rodeos from the time following the Civil War until the early 1930’s. Dakota talks to Lance about the origins of one of today’s favorite sports. (See Picture)

Brian McGinty and Dakota talk about and event that took place 157 years ago this month, the kidnapping of a pioneer family’s two daughters by Indians. One of the girls…Olive Oatman…survived to return home. And she had to live for the rest of her life with tattoos on her face.

To tell musically of the difficulties of pioneer families, Dave Stamey sings “Wheels.”
