This week we’re visiting two places with a lot of Western history that aren’t normally considered a part of the Old West.

We’ll be visiting the Patee House in St. Joseph, MO. Among a number of other things, the Patee House was the original headquarters for the Pony Express.

Then we’ll be visiting Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Again, although Arkansas is considered in the Southeast, Ft. Smith was the judicial headquarters for the Indian Territory, and the courtroom of Hanging Judge Isaac Parker (see picture).

Our Cowboy music this week is provided by Due West Trio.
