Just a few miles from where our regular Bill O’Neal lives, back in 1870 Maurice Barrymore (the great-grandfather of actress Drew Barrymore) was shot in a gunfight. Bill tells us all about it.
In the late 1800’s Fort Union (see picture), just north of Las Vegas, New Mexico, was the supply fort on the Santa Fe Trail for that whole section of the Southwest. Dakota talks to Chief of Interpretation, Frank Torres about this fort.
